This all-day in-person series is designed for working professionals who want to understand AI and use it effectively, without needing a technical background. The series combines AI Explained, a practical introduction to how AI works, its tools, opportunities, risks, and workplace impact, with the AI Learning Lab, a hands-on experience focused on prompting, real-world applications, and AI-supported workflows.
AI Explained: Tools, Capabilities, Risks, and The Future of Work (morning 9-12)
Artificial intelligence is changing how we work, and understanding what it can and cannot do is essential. This workshop provides a practical, nontechnical introduction to today’s AI landscape, including how AI works, common tools and terminology, strengths and limitations, risks and responsible use, and the potential impact on jobs and organizations. Designed for working professionals who want to gain a better understanding of AI in our fast-changing world.
AI Learning Lab: Hands-on Practice with Prompts, Tools, and Workflows (afternoon 1-4)
Bring a laptop and move from understanding AI to using it. In this hands-on Learning Lab, participants explore practical ways to use AI for everyday work, experiment with prompting and AI tools, and build AI-assisted workflows that combine human judgment with AI capabilities. Through guided demonstrations, exercises, and real-world applications, participants develop greater confidence using AI productively, thoughtfully, and responsibly.

Who Should Attend:
Designed for working professionals at all levels: business owners, senior leaders, managers, supervisors, HR and L&D professionals, project managers, operations and administrative staff, marketing and sales professionals, and individual contributors. No technical background is required. In the morning, we’ll look at the rapidly changing AI landscape, including tools, capabilities, risks, workplace implications, and the future of work. In the afternoon, participants will bring a laptop and get hands-on practice with AI tools, stronger prompting, and AI-assisted workflows that can improve productivity while still using appropriate human judgment and safeguards.
Facilitator:
Connie Bossert has over 25 years of teaching experience and combines her expertise in education, management, technology, and business ownership to deliver training that is relevant to today's workforce. She holds a doctorate in Educational Psychology and has served as a senior instructional designer and analyst, training faculty and managing design teams. For the past 15 years, she has led her own company specializing in professional development, management training, and curriculum/instructional design. Connie's facilitation style is engaging and authentic, blending humor, storytelling, and meaningful discussion.
